Fat Grafting and Mastopexy
Fat continues to be a hot topic in plastic surgery, leading surgeons to utilize it’s function in many different procedures to achieve better looking results. One such use of fat is in the area of a mastopexy, or breast lift.
“With a breast lift alone in a patient who doesn’t want a breast implant, the challenge is to get enough fullness in the upper pole, or top half of the breast,” says Dr. Bucky. “For the patient who doesn’t require an implant but needs a bit of volume, using their own fat to help shape the breast, as well as lifting, is ideal.”
The BRAVA breast lift
After the breasts have been lifted and the fat applied to the areas needing volume, Dr. Bucky utilizes a special device that prepares the breasts to receive the transplanted fat cells into the breast tissue. “We call it a BRAVA breast lift, because the BRAVA component is the suction device that helps stimulate the breast and become a good receiver of transferred fat,” says Bucky.
Keeping It Natural
A procedure that has great, natural results is very appealing for many women who either don’t want implants, or don’t need them. “We lift the breast and fill it in the areas that need fill so they can have a beautifully shaped breast without the need of an implant, or the need for implant maintenance in the future,” says Bucky. “It fills all of their needs in one operation.”
