More and more people are flocking towards plastic surgery offices now that non-invasive treatments are on the rise. Before, committing to surgery to remove some fat or tighten your face was for some just too much. Now that surgeons can offer ways to make you look better without surgery, their list of patients is growing exponentially.
Many of these new patients are interested not just because they want to avoid surgery, but because they have very little downtime. They need to get back to work or back to their families and on with life. For this very reason, “lunchtime” procedures are becoming more popular. Many of the non-invasive treatments can get a patient in and out in about an hour with little to no bruising, swelling, or downtime.
Dr. Stafford Broumand of New York City and Dr. Mark Pinsky of West Palm Beach both employ non-invasive treatments to cater to patients whose lives are just too busy for a trip to the OR. As surgeons, however, they know their field and what can and can’t be accomplished during a lunch break. In this PSC Uncut, they field the question, “Can I really get a facelift during lunchtime?”

Avoiding Downtime and Surgery
Even as many of the devices are proving extremely effective, there are definitely limitations to what they can accomplish. It can be hard to separate truth from fiction when it comes to getting away from advertisements, such as the “lunchtime facelift”.
“It’s all in name,” says Dr. Broumand. “If they come in thinking they’re gonna have a facelift and surgery… it can’t be done at lunchtime. But, we have a lot of other modalities to offer them. Yes, they can come in and in one hour we can rejuvenate their face. It doesn’t have to be significant, we just have to educate our patients to what can be done in the allocated time given to us.”
“It’s not all about advertising hype,” says Dr. Pinsky. “It’s about selecting the right patient for the right procedure to give them the best possible outcome in 60 minutes.”
Trust in an expert no matter the procedure
Trusting a board certified plastic surgeon to inform what can and can’t be done is always the best course of action. Experienced in both surgical and non-surgical procedures, a consultation will allow your physician to really look at your features and lifestyle situation; from there a treatment plan can be created.
Even if you think you just want a small, non-surgical procedure to remove some fat, it may be both cost and time-effective to go with a surgical option. Following a Groupon to the nearest non-invasive procedure center will not offer this advice, and could actually cause more problems. For those looking to get in and get out, consulting with the best will give you the best result.
