PSC Case Files – Avoiding Scars via a Breast Lift with Thoughtful Augmentation

In this PSC Case Files, board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Richard J. Restifo of Orange, Connecticut and Dr. Kristi Hustak of Houston discuss a patient of Dr. Restifo who came in looking for rejuvenation in her breasts. Before consulting with Dr. Restifo, the patient had consulted with a different plastic surgeon who said that her breast situation required a breast lift, or mastopexy. The patient was not enthused by this conclusion as she wanted to avoid scars on her breasts.

Scar avoidance is a common situation that plastic surgeons face. There are conditions where it’s obvious that rejuvenation can happen without a visible scar, and, likewise, there are obvious situations where a visible scar is the only way to get real results. The in between cases are when surgeons show their expertise, as in this case of Dr. Restifo’s.
