The world of social media seems to encompass all walks of life, including the realm of plastic surgery. Many surgeons maintain what might be termed a reality show on social media, videoing every aspect of their practice – including surgery – to post publicly for all to see. While this has turned out to be great marketing for some, is it the right environment for patients?

The job of a physician is to care for their patients to the best of their abilities. Some may question whether hosting a mini reality show in the OR for Instagram meets the standard of care typical for a great physician.
