Breastfeeing Maintains Breast Structure and AppearanceA recent study on genetic twins and their physical differences due to environmental factors elicits surprising results, says Dr. Robert Grant, a board certified plastic surgeon from New York City. The research indicates that breastfeeding actually preserves the quality of breasts, versus someone who chose not to breastfeed. When the breasts of genetic twins were analyzed in the study, researchers found that the breasts of women who had breastfed looked better than the breasts of women who chose not to. Dr. Grant claims these results provide even more evidence to the fact that breastfeeding is a multifaceted benefit to mothers; not only does it nutritionally benefit the child, but now it seems it could be physically beneficial to the mother.
