How Juvederm Voluma XC Compares to Other Injectable Fillers

juvederm_voluma_xc_bannerJUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is a longer-lasting, more highly cross-linked injectable treatment that can build volume and restore fullness of the mid-face, particularly around the cheekbones and under the eyelids. This newly-available injectable treatment is the only FDA-approved, hyaluronic acid-based filler designed to augment these specific facial regions. By adding volume, it also helps to lift cheek mass and decrease the overhang and/or shadowing of the nasolabial fold.

Quicker Results

Results from JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC are instantaneous and generally last anywhere from one and a half to two years, so there’s really nothing else on the market that compares to its longevity without a need for additional treatments. Similar injectable fillers, such as Sculptra® Aesthetic and Radiesse™ have different mechanisms of action, consequently requiring multiple treatments to achieve optimal volume.

Smooth Recovery

Furthermore, considering the specific volume and placement of the filler (in contrast to the lips, nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth), the potential side-effects of treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC are often the easiest to deal with for any volume enhancement I perform. Aside from minimal swelling, VOLUMA™ patients typically experience the least amount of bruising, bleeding, and recovery time.

A Great Addition!

It is, however, important to note that by no means am I saying we shouldn’t be using other volume enhancers. In fact, the injectables I previously mentioned, as well as a few others, are particularly beneficial should the patient need a broader range of volume enhancement. That being said, I am extremely excited about JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, and I feel it is a great addition to what I do at my practice.
