Giant Breasts Causes Giant Problems
Kate Upton would not have been the first celebrity to undergo a breast reduction. In the 80’s Soleil Moon Frye was known as the adorable, pig-tailed, Punky Brewster. The show was a hit and so was the actress who played her. Frye continued her career as an actress in various roles after her childhood stardom, but it wasn’t until the age of 15 that puberty caught up with her. Fry had a 38DD breast size and was even diagnosed with a medical condition called gigantomastia, meaning she had abnormally large breasts. After experiencing several problems because of her large breasts, including back pain, 16-year-old Frye underwent breast reduction surgery. This proved to be a life altering change for the actress, both physically and professionally.
Benefiting from Breast Reduction
A breast reduction can be very beneficial for patients. Dr. Patricia McGuire, a board certified plastic surgeon from St. Louis, explains, “It is a big self-esteem boost. Patients will often lose weight afterward because they have the ability to exercise.” The weight of your heavy breasts will be lifted off your back and allow you to have better posture and relieve back pain. Often times shopping for clothes can be an issue with a bigger bust, but reducing your breast size can make it easier to shop for clothes and even make them more comfortable to wear.
Love your Body
It is not certain whether or not Kate Upton will follow in Soleil Moon Frye’s foot steps. “I always feel incredibly grateful for what I have, but there’s times when all women don’t feel their best,” Upton admitted. Big breasts are not bad, it just depends how they affect you and your body.
Luckily, if Kate ever decides to have a breast reduction, she can take comfort in the fact that the procedure won’t keep her in bed for long. Plastic surgeons like Dr. McGuire believe in “active recovery,” and after one night in the surgical center, most patients are free to leave the hospital and do most of their regular activities.
