Dawn Tongish

Dawn Tongish joined the team as a reporter at the Plastic Surgery Channel in 2013. Dawn is a veteran reporter, with 25 years of experience in TV News. Most recently she was the Weekend Anchor/Reporter at CW33 in Dallas, where she was on staff for 14 years. She has covered presidential elections, the space shuttle explosion and breaking weather news; reporting from Galveston Island, when Hurricane Ike rolled through. Her speciality has been crime and justice. Dawn has witnessed two executions in Texas.

Dawn is a 3-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner and has received more than two dozen nominations. In 2012, the Alliance for Women in Media awarded Dawn the Gracie, for Best Female Correspondent in the country. She has been recognized with numerous awards from the Texas Associated Press and Broadcasters and three awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for stories focused on the disadvantaged. Dawn received the Silver Gavel award from the Texas State Bar Association for a series of stories on wrongful convictions in Texas.

Dawn is married with three children and lives in Southlake.
